Andrew Janczak – CFO, development and TA:
Andrew is a graduate of UCLA, took his Waldorf Training at Emerson College, and began teaching at Wynstones, England, in 1974. Subsequently, he worked at the Waldorf School in North Vancouver, and in Santa Rosa, California. There, he took a class through the grades at Summerfield School, where four of his sons graduated. For three years, Andrew was a regular contributor to the Teacher Training Program of Rudolf Steiner College in San Francisco. He took a class through grade one and two at Highland Hall and, in 2000, co-founded The City School. His class graduated several years ago. In addition to mentoring new Waldorf Teachers, he presently is the CFO of The City School as well as being involved in the TA program, administration and development at The City School.
Laura Watkins – Enrollment Director and Outreach
Laura grew up in St. Petersburg Florida. She graduated from Jacksonville University with a Music Degree, and moved to Los Angeles with her husband. While working as a musician she started her own internet music business and began to learn an entirely different skill set with website development and virtual marketing. Years later she had two children, and wanting something special for them, started her own journey towards Waldorf Education. As a City School parent she is thrilled to be working to build the school and bring new people to the wonderful Waldorf curriculum. She currently manages the City School Website and Social Media along with working as Enrollment Director. She also teaches some handwork classes along with Woodwork.
Sarah Northrip – Office
Sarah Northrip earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies, as well as her credential and M. A. in Teaching, from Chapman University. She has also studied Waldorf Education at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, CA. She took a class from grades 1-4 at Journey School, a charter school inspired by Waldorf pedagogy in Aliso Viejo, before moving back to Los Angeles. Sarah enjoys singing, costuming, and all kinds of handwork. After working at The City School as a Kindy Assistant, and the Class 1-2 teacher, she is temporarily turning her energies towards her family, while working part time as our Handwork teacher and Office Manager.
