Lana Buss Ashford was born in a doorway in North Bay, Ontario; her father catching her, while her Filipino mother came to terms with her first Canadian winter. Growing up in an Air Force family, she moved many times, going through many doorways. The birth of her two lively forces of nature, Henry and Willa, led her to discover Waldorf education and Rudolf Steiner.
A graduate of the Waldorf Institute of Southern California, Lana has also taken classes at the Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, CA, and the Center for Anthroposophy in Wilton, NH.
Prior to Waldorf teaching Lana worked in the theatre arts for over fifteen years at the university and professional level. She holds an MFA from Arizona State University and a BFA in theatre from the University of South Dakota.
Lana enjoys walking, painting, music, and road trips with her family.
