Mark Lewis

Class Six and Seven

Mark Lewis has been teaching children for the better part of 20 years in both Waldorf and non-Waldorf schools; including the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, St. Matthews Parish School Pacific Palisades, New Roads School Santa Monica, McKinley Arts Magnet Pasadena, and Mariposa Elementary. Mr. Mark’s Waldorf teaching background includes SolSeeds Waldorf Homeschoolers Co-operative, Highland Hall Waldorf School, and the SunnyHill Waldorf Kinder in Topanga. With his wife Hara, Mark founded and directs KITE (Kids Interactive Theatre Ensemble), a children’s theatre troupe whose performances raise money for charity. Mark received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, his Orff Schulwerk Certification from Cal State LA, Waldorf training from the Waldorf Institute of Southern California, and mentoring from some of the finest Waldorf teachers anywhere. Through the experience of raising his own three beautiful children in a Waldorf environment, Mark has seen first-hand that Waldorf Education is the surest and deepest foundation a child can receive. He is delighted to be a part of this lovely and rich community at The City School, building that foundation for the children here and their families.
