Maya Aghasaryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia where she received an early education in all the performing arts. She continued to study music, theatre and dance after moving to the U.S. at the age of fourteen, becoming especially interested in music performance and pedagogy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from CSUN and has been a performer and music teacher for over 15 years. She has received Waldorf teacher training through WISC workshops and lectures and has been mentored by master teachers both at Highland Hall and the City School. She began as our Music teacher, and then took a class from grade 2 to grade 4, along with taking a class for first grade. She is happy to be back teaching music! She has two sons, both Waldorf graduates.
